Jett Allen is a cartoonist and writer based in Los Angeles, California. His comics, visual essays, and illustrations have been published by The New Yorker, The LA Times, Trans Studies Quarterly (TSQ), Eater, Mubi’s The Notebook, Into, Spiralbound, Granta, and more.

Jett is a two-time Ignatz award nominee for his graphic film criticism/memoir series Trans Classic Movies: Outstanding Online Comic (2023) and Outstanding Series (2022).

Trans Classic Movies was also shortlisted for the 2023 Cartoonist Studio Prize.

Jett has taught comics workshops for: The Believer, The Sequential Arts Workshop (SAW), Hand Follows Eye, The Center for Cartoon Studies, Williams College, and Mt. San Antonio College.

His work has been supported by the New Jewish Culture Fellowship.

He’s currently working on his first graphic novel, Double Life.
